Allen authored the Buffalo version of Philadelphia’s famous ‘Toosh Push’
It’s hard to get Josh Allen on the field. The Buffalo Bills don’t necessarily want him to bulldozer defenders every time he scrambles, but when he decides to deliver a hit, it’s going to happen.
Performing brilliantly this season, Allen displayed his strength by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense 20-17 on Sunday. Despite being hit around the 5-yard line, Allen refused to stop. He pushed his legs forward, received a push from his teammates, and finally found himself in the end zone.
What made this race even more impressive was the sheer power involved even with some assistance from Bill Linesmen.
The size of the quarterback is easy to overlook, and Allen is a prime example. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 237 pounds, he is a formidable force to bring down in the open field. And he’s not afraid to use his feet to create drama.
Beyond sheer athleticism, that run had a significant impact on the scoreboard, allowing the Biles to take a 14-0 lead against the Chiefs. According to CBS, it was the Chiefs’ biggest loss in their last 15 home games.
The play set the tone for Bills, showing Allen’s ability to tackle. It often takes more than one defender to bring him down, and sometimes it requires half a defense or more.
